A complete cycle

Finally, everything’s over, it’s time to retire, really. It’s kinda awkward having let go everything suddenly, but like sbu said, our empire has come to an end, it’s time for the new generation to take over the choir. A great burden is released from my shoulders now, yet, the tinge of sadness lingers when the thought of leaving surfaces. Starting from june 2005, we’ve really been through a lot – 2005 state level, selling of mooncakes, Nightingale Nite 2005, International Choral Fest 2005, sports day sales, district, state and national level 2006, Choral Fest 2006 and all sorts of performances…. Can’t believe we’ve done that much in a year’s time. My choir life ended officially when the national level competition ends, we won the juries’ award and the best conductor award. I believe we could have gone further if we didn’t go off pitch, but no one is to blame, these are unpredictable circumstances we have to face in competitions. If you’ve been reading my previous posts you would have known the passion I have towards the choir, I enjoyed singing together with people who have the same passion, I cherish the joyous moments we spent to together. I will not forget the days in Sam Tet Choir. These are some messages that I would like to convey to my beloved members :


Alvin : A shy guy….Have confidence in yourself, you can sing well if you want to, enjoy singing !!

Andrew : Quite playful sometimes, but still an obedient kid, make sure you behave after we left ok ?

Yijun : Haha, I love your loud and bassy voice. Best discipline master I’ve ever came across !! Continue singing !!

Zi ying : Responsible vice president, you did a great job , keep up the jovial self and don’t forget me !!

Jun Xian : A loyal choir member, keep up the good work in your singing !!

Mun Yi : Cute chubbish gal, lead your altos well, I know you’ll do well !!

Yee Mun : Cute gal also with a nice voice. You are a good leader, make sure you stay till the end ok, the choir needs your help.

Bing Jian : Very obedient and disciplined member, sings quite well too. Keep on improving, you’ve got potential .

Toon Hun : My dear Joseph, u got a great great voice. Although u skip practices sometimes, I know that you have no choice. Sing well in YKLS ya !!

Glenn : Hehe chocolatto, I thought you are a Malay at first sight. Anyway, you are one of the best tenors among the newbies, keep up the good work !!

Ivan : Hey Lady Marmalade, always late or practices, but still very enthusiastic in singing. Don’t give up your studies, you can do well if you work hard, give it the same amount of effort and energy as you spend for the choir. Lurve lurve !!

Julia : Dearest treasurer, you did a great job in collecting al those fees and stuff, I wont forget the times where we share a room together !!

Wye Yip : Looks kinda quiet but actually quite talkative when you get to know him better. Anyway, sing well, you orm 3 guys are great !!

Kevinder : Discipline master….quite scary sometimes when you give orders, but they still listen to you. Make sure you stay till the end ok ??

Hong Wai : Hey hey, I will remember your snake-like dance moves forever, they are fantastic !! Very responsible vice president also, always offering to help. I am always happy and smiling when im with you, it’s nice working with you !!

Wai Yin : kiri kanan kiri… make sure you lead the tenors well ok, you got potential and leadership, but don’t be too playful sometimes ya !!

Juhn Xiarn : 360 degrees drastic change from expressionless to a face rich in enthusiasm. Keep up the good work, you have proved to us that you can do it !!

Kar Leong : My dear brother, I will miss all the times when we had lotsa fun. You are like my jimui, hope to see you again in choir next year, but don’t give your president a hard time, he’s very pressurized. You are a very good tenor, but lack a bit of expression. Do well in your SPM !! Lurve lurve !!!

Kok Yew : Dun always repeat the phrase ‘I din sing’, be confident and sing out, you can sing well actually, keep it up !!!

Yau Weng : You are a one-of-a-kind super star imitator, I love you voice and your modeling style !! You got everything it takes to big !! Love ya jac !!

Yik Hoe : Hey kiddy, make sure you learn to conduct well and grab the national best conductor title again ok? You can do it !! One more thing, don’t be so serios all the time lah, chill out.

Yixiang : National best conductor !! only 16 !! Don’t be too pressurized, I know you take up the post well and also strive in your studies, I got faith in you !! Funny and intelligent boy, sure I’ll miss ya lotzz.

Chooi Sze : Oh dear mummy, enjoyed standing and singing beside you. I’ve known you or less than a year, but we’re buddies already, im gonna miss you… Rmr to deliver me an invitation when the time comes ok ?? I’m sure u know what I’m talking bout right ??

Yean Tuck : The new generation super bass. I believe you’ll lead the basses well. Don’t be so cool lah, ppl will be afraid of you.

Hon Lunn : Hey Jolin, u got a great voice also, have confidence in yourself, don’t always hide behind others, you will do well in the choir !!

Lydia : You’ve been very helpful in correcting our pitches. Known you since primary, make sure you wont forget in the future and I definitely wont forget your truck haha !!

Nicholas : My cutest Nicholas, I really miss your voice. Pity u cant join us for nationals, but I’ll always remember the days where we had great un, really miss you lotzz!! Come and visit me anytime, just 2 bocks away right !!

Qi Han : You’ve really grown a lot since the day I get to know you, I think you’re gonna be taller than your brother. You will make a great pianist and tenor, work hard !!

Chee Liang : Same compliments as juhn xiarn, you’ve really improved tones, I’m proud o you, there’s still room for improvement , keep on singing !!

Shaun : Dear shaun b, I’ll miss your singing and dance moves, keep in contact after graduation, and I’m no cat ok !

Kai Lin : Kai lin dear, thanx or bringing the iron everytime we travel, we really had fun singing together, keep in touch ya !!

Jong Hao : Havent known you for a long time, but I think you will sing well alongside with yau weng !!

Gim Shieng : You are a senior now loh, try to be more obedient and set a good example for the juniors ok ? Sing hard !!

Poh Ling : Don’t spend too much time and don’t always skip classes or the choir, I know you;ve got enthusiasm, but you main responsibility is still to study well, so that you wont regret in the future. Have fun in the choir !!

Syee wei : My honey !! Im gonna miss you tonnes and tones !! Hope we’ll be able to see each other after graduating form six. You’ve been a great and loyal friend, I’ll miss those times when we had pillow talks and outings with chow and gang. Love ya lotzz and lotzz….muacks muacks !!

Yuhan : Daddy, happy working with you in the choir, though misunderstandings are inevitable. You are a great president, do well in STPM, God bless..

Wilson : I realized you’ve got a great vocal when you performed during farewell, use it well, keep on training for better techniques !!

Hui lin : Same as poh ling, arrange your time accordingly, try to strike a balance between your studies and co-curricular activities, you will do well I believe !!

Nai Woon : You are a great tutor, we’ve learnt a lot from you. I’ll miss ya lots too, make sure you come back more often ok ?

Kar Lip : You are one of the best tenors among the seniors, have passion in singing always and don’t forget the Sam tet voices !!

Pek Shi : Even though you can’t make it to Port Dickson to support us, but I know you are the biggest supporter of ST choir all the time. You are like the mother of the choir, taking care o us all the time, we’ll miss you a lot, take care.

Jiayi : Uncle yew, you are a very talented musician and a good student, but a bit poisonous sometimes, hehe. Anyway, perajurit is a nice arrangement, don’t be too picky lah !

Kar kit : Uncle sam, thanx for coming back so often to guide us and teach us, we appreciate it very much. Hope you’ll be a successful chemical engineer in future !

Sui Wai : The legendary super bass, had lotsa fun with you also in the international choral fest, hope you’ll do well in taylors, don’t spend too much time in cs and kao lui ok!

Chi Ming : Hey Green monster, I’ll miss the joy and fun we’ve shared together, be a successful architect ya !!

Form 3 : You guys are considered a fast learning batch, you’ve acquired lots of singing skills in just a short period, but that is insufficient, work harder !! Do well in your PMR !

Form 4 : You guys are officially upgraded as seniors now, make sure you set gd examples to the rest, work together as a whole to bring the choir one step higher !!

Lower 6 : Fresh and energetic, make sure you don’t leave half way ok, stick with the choir till the end, you’ll realize that you’ll get more than what you lose in the process.

F5 and U6 : Our empire has come to an end, it’s time to work hard for our future’s sake. But make sure the passion of singing in our hearts do not cease, and do keep in touch after we take on different paths. Hope that we’ll all do well in our exams !! Aja Aja hwaiting !!

Teachers : Thanx for all the effort and energy you’ve given to the choir, we appreciate it very much, you are the best teacher advisors I’ve ever met !!


This is not too bad of an ending after all. The cycle is completed now, I will treasure the memories that the Sam Tet Voices has given me. I love ya guys !! Cheers or ST choir !!
